Public Consultation Post Office in Ascot

A public consultation is underway to bring The Post Office back to Ascot High Street, located in our Ascot store. Details are below and we have leaflets available in store for customers to take away, during the consultation period customers can feedback comments or questions directly to The Post Office. The consultation period will last until 14th March 2016 and we will give further updates after this date.

The Post Office is to re-open High Street Post Office, Budgens Retail Stores Ltd at 3 Hermitage Parade, Ascot, SL5 7HD.

High Street branch closed temporarily in January 2016, due to resignation of the Postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises at 525 High Street, Ascot, SL5 7HG for Post Office use.

We are now pleased to announce that a new agent has been appointed, providing us with the opportunity to incorporate Post Office services into their existing Budgens supermarket.

The proposed opening hours are Monday – Saturday: 8am – 6pm; Sunday: 10am – 4pm.

High Street Post Office will be a modern open-plan local branch with Post Office services provided from an open-plan till at the retail counter of the convenience store.

Julia Marwood, Regional Network Manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a public consultation. Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal. The consultation will close on 14 April 2016.
